PHD THESIS

BIOMEDICAL SIGNAL AND IMAGE PROCESSING

Supervisor: Prof. Ales Procházka

The main objectives of the thesis can be summarized as follows:

  • visualization of multi-dimensional magnetic resonance (MR) data sets

  • presentation of the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) de-noising algorithms that are applied to enhance noisy MR data sets

  • application of dual tree complex wavelet transform (DT CWT) in the analysis and de-noising of MR biomedical images

  • introductory principle of the watershed algorithm for image texture segmentation

  • classification of image textures using a competitive neural network
